Giving
Jesus gave everything He had, in order for us to become everything He wants us to become. He truly gave with ROYAL generosity. Since giving is a way of expressing our love and appreciation towards God, we encourage tithing, first fruits, offerings and sowing into God's Kingdom.
Stewardship
A wise steward knows: A tenth (10%) is the least I’m supposed to give.
A wise steward knows: That the well being of his house determines his own well being.
A wise steward knows: That his heart is where his treasure is; if his treasure is in the house where he fellowships; his joy, excitement and spiritual growth will be evident to all.
A wise steward knows: His heart and his wallet are connected; spiritual growth and giving is inseparable.
A wise steward knows: If I take care of God’s business He will take care of mine.
A wise steward knows: It costs much more to run the household (ministry) than his own affairs.
A wise steward knows: All I keep is called “harvest”, but all I have released is called “seed”. Seed is the only thing that can be multiplied into a harvest.
A wise steward knows: It is SEED…..TIME…..HARVEST, after sowing there is a time of patience, expectation and faith ……then comes the harvest.
A wise steward knows: God is honored and glorified in my giving/sowing/offering/tithing
A wise steward knows: Believing is receiving
Tithing and Offerings
Mal 3:8-12 ESV Will man rob God? Yet you are robbing me. But you say, 'How have we robbed you?' In your tithes and contributions. 9 You are cursed with a curse, for you are robbing me, the whole nation of you. 10 Bring the full tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. And thereby put me to the test, says the LORD of hosts, if I will not open the windows of heaven for you and pour down for you a blessing until there is no more need. 11 I will rebuke the devourer for you, so that it will not destroy the fruits of your soil, and your vine in the field shall not fail to bear, says the LORD of hosts. 12 Then all nations will call you blessed, for you will be a land of delight, says the LORD of hosts.
Heb 7:5-8 And those descendants of Levi who receive the priestly office have a commandment in the law to take tithes from the people, that is, from their brothers, though these also are descended from Abraham. 6 But this Man who does not have His descent from them received tithes from Abraham and blessed him who had the promises. 7 It is beyond dispute that the inferior is blessed by the superior. 8 In the one case tithes are received by mortal men, but in the other case, by One of whom it is testified that He lives.
In the one case tithes are received by mortal men, but in the other case, by One of whom it is testified that He lives.
